Why is it so obvious now that i shouldn't take that car where 20 others are going to drift??? but it wasn't obvious yesterday

Well it's an unbeleivable story really, we were pretty much all parked in 2 carparks and one cop car came in, blocked one of the parks and the other group ran free, unfortunately i was in the group that got done

they were opening bonnets and everything, but would you beleive after searching under my bonnet i got defected for one tyre and not having a grommet on some wires through the fire wall, that's all!!!

he never saw the turbos in there, what a doofus, the cars not in my name so i played pretty dumb:

orificer: oh, a rally car
me: NAH (which it isnt he just said that cause it had flares and rally car arnt allowed to use flares!)

orificer: hmmm, has it got a widend diff or something
me: nah, i think it's just the wheels

orificer pulling a boost line hand over hand through the firewall (goes to my boost gauge and has a fair bit of slack): what's this
me: oh thats for the vacuum gauge, for economy
orificer: your intrested in economy are you

orificer: chuckles while looking down the side of the radiator
me: (panic he's found the intercooler) (on closer look he's laughing at the coke bottle) oh thats the radiator overflow

all in all he tells me i need a non-slip floor, mats alone is not good enough, tyre though im sure they are all roadworthy, and a grommet, and some rust holes on front quarter need to be fixed

but he only wrote tyre and grommet on defect notice so im gonna take it to vicroads and ask not to have to get a roadworthy as there is supposed to be 3 problems with the car and he only wrote two, see how i go

god it was funny though he was staring at the airbox and long intercooler pipe upto it for ages and just had no idea what the hell he was looking at

Is it a yellow or red defect?
Surely its just a yellow and your mechanic that does your pinkslips can pass it. Why bother mucking around with Vicroads, after all unless you engineer it the engine is still a defect and you probaly just going to stuff yourself up more with Vicroads

actually thats a good point, if they dont have to check the engine and chassis number at vicroads like they do when you first register the car, then all i would need to do is walk in there with a current road worthy certificate, flash it in there face and choof off, hmm, nice idea will have to check that one out

good story..I wonder if he was "playing dumb" so he had less paperwork.

A good story "all the same".

Careful that when you go to get the defects removed that they don't notice anything else...
In my old car (a gemini) I got done for tyres.
I had to get regot o look at it...
I had to replace some of the exhaust, fit new brake lines, new steering rack, replace all the anti pollution stuff, steering alignment, get new brackets for the seats and some other stuff...
Wasn't very happy...
Yes, I know all that most of that stuff shoudl have been done anyway, but even the mechanics I went to said alot of it was bullshi+.

thats where its good here though, they dont have the facilities to check the car, and most of them are numbskulls anyway, they just check excatly what it says for them to check and nothing else is really looked at

turns out i need to present the car and the roadworthy, may need to put an a12 back in for that, anyone got one handy???

i'll try chucking the extractors and normal air filter on the a15 and see if it'll squeez through, fingers crossed, otherwise i need an a12 in there

thats if i cant talk my way out of needing a roadworthy at all, but i dont like my chances there really, will see what happens....
