The overrider is straight leaf that normally doesn't affect the spring pack rate, until a heavy load is applied and the pack is compressed far enough.

So even though the ute spring rate is higher, in typical unloaded condition it has an effective softer rate.

Ah ok no problems. Do you know what the stock unloaded spring rate would be on a 4 or 5 pack ute. Just trying to figure out what spring rate to order for mine. I plan to not load it other than shopping bags or maybe a small appliance or flat pack from IKEA etc. I'm most likely going to be running 200-225lb coilover setup for my hybrid LZ up front. Koni adjustable rear shocks.

Also dunno how to order or specifiy the ride/spring height from mark?

Somewhere I seem to recall that the Nismo springs for the 1200 were only 110lbs . Silly question what's the advantage here are the composite springs substantially lighter?

Well soft rear springs at 110lbs will give a comfortable ride, but with too much power, i suspect even composite leaves will cause axle tramp?

I wonder if you could incorporate a single metal leaf as an over - rider or tramp dampener with a composite single leaf?

im getting some moly-steel bars made up in april for axle tramp. Should only need it for high powered cars (ca's/sr) setups. The composite leaf is roughy 60% ligher

there's a number of common ways to control axle tramp.
I wouldn't use a steel spring with a composite spring - the constant friction could wear into the composite material.
tramp rods/slapper bars or caltrac style arms under the front half of the spring would be better. Or fitting a swaybar the way they did in the Datsun Competition Manual would also help prevent axle tramp and give you an adjustable sway bar.

Latest reply from. Some questions he has raised that I cannot answer.
Mark has kindly offered us to purchase 8 sets (3 pairs in 2 boxes and 2 pairs in another box). He said they must go to the same address otherwise the shipping company will consider them different shipments and charge them Individually which is not economical. He has kindly offered an invoice price of under $1,000 to avoid import tax.

Could someone please confirm the specifications and dimensions of the springs to be made and answer to Marks questions below. We also need one more person to make the 8 pairs.

I'm happy to accept shipment and payments of everyone is comfortable with that. I don't bar any issues of someone else wants to take the responsibility either. So long as we all get our springs.

I will get a final shipping quote from Mark once someone gets back to me about the answers below.

Cheers.

"OK, we can work with that amount, and I can’t see any better way. But, with different addresses, the shipper will consider them separate shipments and the cost per parcel will be somewhat higher than for the 3 parcels going together to the same address.

To the springs for a moment, just need verification that your length numbers are from bolt centerlines as opposed to tip of the spring eye. Also the arch height will probably require reversing at least the rear eye (loop faces down as installed rather than towards the vehicle’s floor). Do you think we should consider reversing the front eyes as well? If so, need a check on the front pocket to assure nothing will interfere with the flat part of the reversed eye.
What’s your preference for how to make payments? If with e-mailed card info., I can assure security at this end by securing the info and deleting the e-mail when received.

Thanks,

Mark"
