Thats the 64 million dollar question. Its comes down to what is your fav colour and then go from there to get just the "right" shade of that fav colour.

Well thats my 10 cents

mine is white, but if i had the choice of respraying it i would probably go for silver perhaps or a gunmetal grey sort of colour...

the engine bay is too hard to keep clean with white!

I agree with 1200RC, all colors look good, so long as they are free from ripples and polished up nicely.

I do find that using the factory colors (or something of similar hue) is the best option.

Painting a 1200 some new color, is a risky option. But it can work.

Light Pastel type colours are always good.

spend the effort on the panel beating and any colour looks good. If you go for the current colour, then if your painting skills are a bit ahhh dicey, then imperfections are hidden eaisly and you dont have to do the internals (doors, dash etc)
and it also keeps it in line with what was available at the time. i like the styling that my car gives and the sky blue of mine is a typcal car of its era. It helps maintain its originality and besides I like sleeper cars. Looking plain jane, but have some sting under the bonnet.

There is a page on this site somewhere that has a heap of pis of different colours. Check that out, it moght give you some ideas.
