Symptoms include: difficult to start when cold, will not idle when cold, backfiring, hesitation.

When warm, it will work as normal.

No need to buy anything, instead inspect the choke and the linkage. It is likely put on incorrectly.

The choke is activated by IGN voltage.

It is only indirectly affected by engine heat.

Hi Guys

I checked my electric choke removed it and fixed it back , It is nicely opening while engine is warming up , But doesn't close when engine becomes cold when you touch a linkage handle by hand with a tick sound it closes it it stuck somewhere or is there a spring or something for it to close or is it automatically has to come to close position ? what would be the cause ?

thanks

The method to adjust the choke, is to set it so that it just barely closes 100% when cold. Do not adjust it to fully open (the electric connection will do that).

The choke will not close fully when cold until the throttle is slightly opened. This will happen when you touch your foot to the accelerator pedal.

Hi DD

Ok so it means when i press the accelerator pedal a bit if the engine is cold it will automatically close the choke and eventually open it while engine is warming up again ? is it ?

if so there there is nothing wrong with my electric choke
there was a piece of iron wire that has been tighten to keep the choke plate open (by the previous owner) , So i thought the electric choke doesn't work , earlier it did not work but after re fixing it works great,

i will check the accelerator pedal and see it back and let you know

There is no link between the accelerator cable and choke. There is a link between the throttle lever and the choke at the carburetor. It only needs cleaning to remove grease and dust. Spray with special carburetor cleaner or with ether.
