Thanks guys,
I think it would look really nice with the stripes but not sure I have the patients for it at the moment, so will just leave it for the time being.
To be honest I'm a bit sick of painting and sanding now, just want the bloody thing finished :)

a few parts are starting to trickle in now.
All the light/medium gauge wire has arrived today.
Ended up purchasing the higher quality M22759/32 wire (equiv to Raychem Spec55 stuff) in 20AWG (Sensors) and 16 AWG (power) (100mtrs each) and 20mtrs of three core shielded cable for the CAS and wheel speed sensors. This stuff is thin and light but a bitch to work with without the proper tools.
Ordered through Cambridge technologies in melbourne, nice quick service, highly recommended.
Wire wise still need heavy gauge stuff for battery to alt/starter, might just go 4AWG for this stuff, in the above spec I would have to order in from the US, so might end up going cheap on this to get it locally.
I did some crimping on the weekend, put the Deutsch connectors onto the wheel speed sensors, glad the turret I bought worked on the Deutsch pins. Worked out cheaper then the Deutsch specific crimp tools. I got mine DMC AF8 from crimptech.com.au second hand. again service was good. Anyone who is going down this path the cheap stripmaster wire strippers will do the M22759 wire.
The local Newcastle revolution race gear guy is really nice and I went in today to order front springs (King springs) and he gave me a deal on EBC front pads (Redstuff) so Ill give them a try.
I wasn't aware he was a Yokohama dealer and managed to order in some shoes (225/50R15 - A050 medium compound), I thought I could only get these from Sydney so that saved me a trip (and some cash too).
I'm waiting for a thread adaptor to come from the UK (3/8 BSP to M12x1.5) for the oil temp sensor, but can live without this if needed, seems to be taking for ever to arrive.
Today I ordered a 38mm hose adaptor for my lower radiator hose from gcg, these were a bitch to find in Australia.
I'm waiting for the Haltech crimp tool set to turn up and expecting the front hubs to be machined tonight.
No photo updates today sorry.

hey Bryan,
good to hear the progress!! Although I think about 80% of the forum didn't understand half of your post - sure lost me I thought wire was just wire ......
Still got that CA bellhousing and coupe vents - are you going to drop in at Wakefield for round one???
If so, I can take them with me. Keep up the good work!!
Cheers.

Jeff,
I sent you a PM about wakefield. Am thinking of dragging the family down for the weekend.
You might be right about the wire stuff, a little in depth and boring for most people.

Still working on the car, although had a few things on in the last couple of weekends.
Yesterday i knocked up a button box.
I was going to use the dash panel but it was out of my reach when strapped into the seat.
So here was my attempt.
Buttons are (top to bottom).
Wipers and lights, battery isolation.
Pit limit, ignition isolate, ignition, starter button
Circuit breakers and indicator switch.
The circuit breakers can be popped so that will enable me to isolate systems such as fuel for testing. The ignition isolate enables the ECU and dash to be turned on without supplying fuel or ignition power so i can play with the dash or download log files.

Sounds great! Datsun 1200 also used i believe 20 awg for sensors & 16 awg for power (12 & 14 awg for headlights). Always pays to use the right wire.

Not a lot done today, wouldn't dare spend the whole of Mothers day in the garage.
Got a few little things progressed.
Mounted most things to the dash now, and finished mounting the button box.
I bent the shifter back slightly to give more clearance to the button box.
Noticed I did have a pick of the front end complete and on the new tyres/wheels so have attached one.

Making progress on the wire loom.
This weekend i cleaned up a lot.
Replaced the diff centre with a 3.5:1
On the wiring front, the button box is pretty much done.
Rear wiring is completed too, this is the rear lights, fuel pumps and rear wheel speed sensors.
Not much to show for all the work, but really happy with the results. Tefzel used throughout and deutsch connectors as well. these are pretty cost effective and i find them easy to work with.
Don't worry the mess of white wires are all labelled :)
Fingers crossed another solid weekend or two and the wiring will be finished.
