try doing a search on CA18DET and SR20DET
i've seen CA18 go for $800 with manual gearbox
and the SR will be around $1000 + depends on the yr and kms
try Asian Auto Spares I found them cheaper from the other import yards/wreckers in brisbane.
All Jap is next to being cheaper

try private sale like personaltradingpost or something, private sale is always been cheaper but then again you dont have WARRANTY

also try getting half-cut as this will save you a lot as most of the stuff for the conversion are there and you can even sell the other stuff you dont need.

anyone here know the performance differnece between a CA18DET and a SR20DET...

i will probably settle with the CA18DET but i would like the SR

lol, this is funny, i spent $350 to get the car and i am gonna chuck an engine that will cost 1000.... o_0

....Well, that is the beauty of it, for 1350 bucks you can get a FWD plastic car, with a FWD understeer that could land you up a tree, only if the engine is in decent condition. 120Y with an SR20DET or a pichi honda plastic car FWD ....
...do not think it twice!
120Y, coil overs, sway bars, decambered rear leaves,etc, will eat plastic for fun.
