Been away from car for a while but now I've got it fixed. Radiator moved down an inch and clearance is good. Drove it the other day and it seems to be running good. Racing this Sunday so I'm ready to give it a try. Last few races were rained out but it looks like we have good weather this weekend. I'll see what it can do. Shoot some video as well.

Yes my car is cursed. Last Sunday I unloaded the car at the track ready to race and the tranny rear seal started leaking again. The conclusion is that I ruined the rear sleeve bushing when I ran the car with the driveline a slight bit to short. So now I'm looking for a new tranny unless I can find someone who can replace the sleeve for a descent price. So in the meantime I'm not racing.
I did confirm that my current tranny is out of a 620 pickup. Not a 720 which I previously thought.

OK. I looked up Transtar. They sell transmission parts. Bushing sleeve sells for $22.50. I'm going that route. I'll find a machine shop to install it.

Not cursed, at least you know the problem and the fix.

Can you find a spare while you get this one fixed? Always good to have a spare

I've seen nothing on Craigslist. I went to the junkyard yesterday to pull one but it was the shorter version of the transmission. Nothing else out there at the moment from what I could find. I know mine works fine so I'm sticking with it. I'm going to pull the motor and tranny tomorrow. To tight a space to pull the tranny alone. I've done it so many times. Its routine.

Hello, I've been lurking here a bit and happened to check out this build. You have done an amazing job. Can't wait to see what times you pull with your new KA24DR :P

I read through your entire build and I was wondering, do you have a link to your A15 build? Trying to gather info for my A15 as far as possible supercharging capabilities. Thanks for your time and good luck finding a new trans.

Hi Kirden. Welcome to the club. I do not have a build thread for the A15 motor. You'll just have to look through all of them. All my work is custom done and there's no rhyme or reason for any of it. if you have any qustions , just message me.

I currently have the long 71B 5 speed. Its worked well up until this point. Not noticing the the short driveline was my fault.
Got the new bushing yesterday so I'll be back in the garage pulling the motor and tranny out.

Engine and tranny out yesterday morning. Took me about an hour. I had other stuff to do so I left it. Hopefully have time to remove rear tranny housing and get it to the machine shop.
