Can any one sudjest someone who has or can make a swaybar for a Datsun 1200 Coupe fitted with a CA18DET

The original does not clear the sump.

I rang white line direct and they said they have made them, however they have nil stock and can't find a jig to make more. So I need to provide a Template made from my old bar.

Has anyone purchased a bar from any other suspension companies or is their something that will fit from another vehicle.

Help appreciated ... Jarrad

The 120Y doesn't fit on my CA18 one. My engine sits 1 inch off the firewall, and 3/4inch off the crossmember. The 120Y one would be perfect for a street car, but it "kicks up" on one side which hits on the sump. Maybe you could get a 120Y one "flattened"?

The original 1200 one used to fit on my car with no problems.

I will be getting a custom one made to suit the other suspension mods on my project.

I have a 120y with hitting the sump, so I just massaged the sump to clear the bar, nothign gets harmed if done right as the oil pickup is a fair way away from the edge.

Cheers

This would be relatively easy to make up yourself, just look at the competition suspension manual on this site. it has instructions on how to make a H/duty sway bay for a 1200, which as dattodude said would cleart the CA sump.

Thanks guys Ill go down the custom route. Looking into suspension companies now and whiteline looks the go.

I don't want to hammer the sump considering I just re-made it to increase oil capacity. I should have made it to clear the sway bar like I did for the crossmember.
