P.S. My No.2 son has a stock 120Y & it's a sweet thing. We gave it a full, major service & fixed everything that was in need of attention. It looks & runs sweet with it's 13" mags & will seve him well for a while to come. We all love it.

When you pull out your "high beam knob"??? I'm pretty sure that they don't have that.

If you pull the "headlight switch" knob to the frist position, [or first click], you should have either low beam, or parking lights. Which one of these is determined by the position of the "beam selector switch" [dip switch] which is located on the steering column.
In one position you have park lights, while the other gives you low beam.

BEFORE driving off, you should pull the headlight switch knob to the second click, or, full out position. The beam selector switch now alternates between high & low beams.
Rotating the headlight switch knob between the two available positions gives you two diferent instrument light intensities, Bright is for town driving, while dim is for country driving. At least, thats the way i remember it in my 1973 Datsun 1200 ute.
This should be all explained in the owners manual.
I know it's a bit of a weird setup, & it does seem to be unique to the 1200 & 120Y [that i know about] but it works OK once you get the hang of it.

enuff with the high beam sh1t already!

if you want a nice simple power up, a CA18DE and 5speed is a great power up. with a set of cams and individual throttles they're great little engines.

if you use a 180B front end under it you can utilise the engine mounts and crossmember which are spot on - and you could also adapt the larger stanza brakes with minimal fuss.
