Wrapping up some loose ends this weekend and getting ready for shocks and a tune.
Brakes are bleed. I made a vacuum pump to assist with bleeding, worked well.
Make from a old glass coffee jar, some clear hose and my shop vac.
Due to the roll cage I had to trim some of the side panels, so I re-covered them and these are now installed.
The oil catch can I had was too small (only held about 1 ltr) so I made a new one today.
Not the most attractive looking thing but holds 3ltrs and is functional.
I re-did the window net as I didn't like the way I did it the first time.

Last thing today was to drop some fuel in the tank and fill the radiator.
I tried to start it tonight but it wouldn't start, kicks over but no run-on.
Checked spark (which was good), fuel pressure was up around 45psi. After a while I figured out I had wired the injectors in incorrectly. Apparently the ID1000 injectors are polarity sensitive and I got it around the wrong way :(
Anyway, after I fixed this it would run-on but not start properly. I suspect it is the CAS setup on the Motec.
Something to fix next weekend. Other then that it has been tinkering with the software on the Dash.

Next weekend should see the front and rear windows go back in and hopefully get the bastard started....finally.

ITS ALIVE.
So happy. Tonight I got the old girl to start.
Had some fun setting up the Motec with the CA18 Cam/crank Angle Sensor.
then I ran into some issues with the fuel table. I had the MAP sensor set to psi however the default MAP compensation table was in KPA values and it trimmed out all the fuel.
When fixed I managed to gas out the garage until I reset all the overall table trims.
Idles nicely, have a video on the Ipad but not sure what to do with it (downloaded on the computer but its upside down).
This weekend will be tidying up a few things and off for shock absorbers and a tune.

Cheers,
I hope so.
Have the car booking in on Monday for new shocks, wheel alignment and corner weigh.
Spoken to the tuner who is available after all that is complete.
Just need to tidy a couple of things up this weekend.

Did a fair bit of tidy up work on the weekend.
Front and rear screens are now in (Although I cracked the front on install).
The new seal was pretty tight to fit. Hopefully my insurance will cover this and i get the luxury of someone else installing it.
I modified the catch can after some sage advice, the filter pipe now bends up internally to maximise the capacity.
I completed the inlet pipe (Would like to build a shield around in due course) and the restrictor is installed.
I made a tailshaft loop to meet regulations as well.
It now as E85 fuel in it and I modified the fuel table to suit.
She starts nicely enough.
I have a few leaks show up. Just need to tighten a few things.
Yesterday it was loaded onto the trailer and off to Sydney to have shocks built.
They are going to check bump steer, roll centres, corner weigh and build 4x shocks to suit. Should take approx 2 weeks to complete.

Had a few issues getting out of the driveway, went over the gutter (Sloped type) lifted the inside rear wheel and got stuck...Twice). Oh and time for a decent rear vision mirror, my side ones were not adjusted and you can't see crap around the seat.

Loading onto the trailer the exhaust outlet just hits at one point. Can not load with the front spoiler on (no tiedown points).
The trailer was looking worse for wear. SO it will get a touch up this weekend whilst the car is out.

Ready to roll out of the garage for the first time

Looking good, just wanted to ask your rear tow strap does that bolt to the rear leaf spring hanger? Thinking about fitting one of those straps to my car.

No it doesn't.
There was a alignment hole in the chassis rail near the rear spring hanger that I welded a captured nut into and it attaches to that (I added this both sides for flexibility).
For the front I used the bumber mounting holes.

Quick update on the car.
Shocks are going in today.
The bump steer was 1mm over 40mm travel so not too bad at all considering it has stanza steering arm.
Roll centers were pretty high but the roll axis was as I wanted it, I may have too much spring in the front with the roll centers the way they are.
The front struts I used (Stanza) were out of alignment, so they bent both struts to maximise my available camber. With Maddat camber tops I should get the alignment figures I want and still have plenty of adjustment room. The struts were out by about 3 Deg (one was showing -5Deg the other was -2Deg).

Car gets a wheel alignment this afternoon then goes on the corner scales for a weigh on Monday.
I am taking it straight out to be tuned on Tuesday after which it is ready for log-booking and racing.
