cheers shaun, yea looked through your build, very nice work!

yea all the floors have rust, but just in sections so they can be patched relatively easily. Going to put new sills on too as they arent the best.
Couple of spots around wheel arches and the rear window lip needs attention.

Plenty to do but not the worst rust on a datto I have seen...

Ok little bit more progress with the 2dr.

I ordered a window removal kit off ebay for $20. Actually worked pretty well. Taking my time I managed to remove the rear window without damage. The seal was totally stuffed. Rock hard and cracked everywhere so that made it a lot harder.

here is the end result:

With the window removed I could inspect the parcel shelf corners closer. As the seal was buggered for along time and the car was left outside there is rust in both corners:

Then I started wire-wheeling the boot floor and cutting out the rusted metal:

Thought about it Chris but super $$ here and I think I can strip it myself.
I have a diy sandblast kit here for certain areas

more rust repairs 2day with Nige!

Bad spots cut out, KBS rust seal inside the rails of frame then weld through primer on all other areas where welding occurs..

2nd step result on other side, new metal is but welded in, then cleaned and prep'd with KBS products. KBS rust sealed and the KBS numetal epoxy putty used around but welds to fill any minor gaps or imperfections... This will then be sanded and more KBS applied on the top

rear window was heavily stripped back and soaked in KBS rust blast for many hours, then KBS rust sealed

new metal tacked in..

Cheers turboute

Shaun
All the replacements so far are just from sheet metal other than the rear lip which was from a donor sedan
