There is no 12A crossmember for 1200s. It is a custom article.

What most guys do is leave the 1200 crossmember in, and put rotor motor mounts up front. See http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... engine_swap#Engine_Mounts

For NSW the RTA VSI06 says: "Maximum engine capacity ... Original tare mass (kg) x 3.0 cc". reportedly they accept 730kg for 1200 sedan/coupe resulting in 2190 cc max.

But "The engine capacity to be used for rotary engines is the displacement of all rotors x 2"

12A is 1146cc. So too big.

This is only for "for registration as a modified production vehicle". For ICV engineering it would be allowed, still could be street registered but will cost more.

Yeah and the above link dates back to 2003 and NSW laws have tightened up since then. Consult member 25GTV he is up to date on the legality of vehicle mods/upgrades.

Yes, the link for tare weight reportedly 730kg is old.

The rest of the information comes from Queensland Transport and NSW RTA 2013 documents.

This info is correct for qld misses out buy 100 cc roughly spoke to Queensland transport and couple mod platters and no way round it i was told

I bought up about putting 12a into r100 and that they would be similar weight was told that was no longer legal to do still question if this is correct

If you can get away with let us know where and how cheers

DD i dont mean to argue the point with you but its all well and good what the RTA says but personal experience is that the RTA says one thing but getting VSCCS engineers to sign off on things is another ball game its there arse on the line and thats why and where there getting tougher. Best to ring around and do some personal enquiries hence why i said to contact member 25GTV he is up to speed on all the can and can nots.Brakes has become a crucial element in any conversion (A Good Thing). For example a lot of engineers i have consulted say if your running a CA18 you need to run the same brakes as the vehicle that engine came out of.
