380 ft lb torque is a lot. Most V8s don't make that much.

Just make sure the clutch is always adjusted with an appropriate amount of play in it.

New clutch in the mail today so I pulled the motor this morning and got the flywheel down to the machine shop for a resurface.

Check out the old XTD pressure plate. I broke it.

New SPEC Stage 3, 6 Puck Clutch

I have to be back at work tomorrow so I'll put it back together on Monday.
Next race is the 29th so I have time to get it back together.

Forgot to mention that I sold my Z24 motor this past week. $100. The guy got a good reconditioned head, .020 block with new pistons, new alternator, starter and clutch. Nice to finally get it out of the garage.
Only complete motor I left is my original A12.

I'm getting tired of this. I had a small drip from the tranny. Figured I didn't get a good seal when I took it apart for the rear sleeve bushing last time. So I took it apart to reseal it and what do I do....I crack the rear tranny housing. Crap!!! So tranny is down at the weld shop getting fixed. Thought I'd get it back together today but will have to wait till tomorrow.

Here we go again.
So yesterday morning I get my transmission back, engine back into car, driveline hooked up and fluid in tranny. Working on putting on the exhaust header on and what do I do, break an exhaust stud off. Easy fix, drill and easy-out the dang thing. Well, I break the easy-out in it so now I'm screwed.
Now the heads off and down at the machine shop. They have this $12,000 machine that with electricity, burns out the easy-out. Should be able to pick the head up later today.
So please give me your feedback on reusing MLS head gaskets because racing is Sunday and I have no time to order another one. If the forecast confirms rain for Sunday by the end of today, I will wait and order another one.
I've never had a car that gave me so much trouble. Unconditional Love.

Yes, tough love. That's what I say to my kids.
Well I got the head back yesterday and it looks good. The guy said that I could reuse the MLS head gasket again. Just coat it with copper spray.
Its raining today and its raining all weekend so I'm being lazy. More than likely no racing Sunday so I may wait. 2 more races in October.
Its been quite the struggles with this car since I originally drove it home 15 years ago with the original A12.

It like giving birth and raising a child. Especially if they dont run you have to push.... more than a watermelon through a tennis ball sized hole (tell your mrs that lol) .

15 years. ... buy it an aniversary present too.
