Good luck with the build rb20.
I am preparing to put a z18et into my 1200 coupe so I am very interested in how you are mounting your engine and gearbox and how you are modifying the sump. Cheers

Hey mate thanx for the reply. The 1800 block is not as tall as the 2L block, so if your sump bowl is at the front then you more than likely will not have to mod the sump. Will show detailed pics o the mounts when I make them.

I took my 240z to collingrove hill climbs to get my race fix while I am building the kb110
Here's a vid of my one of my runs. It was not the fastest run because I had a bit of a spill half way up. I blame my cheep Chinese brand road tyres. http://youtu.be/-C7HGUOu2G4 So now I am worried that I am not going to get the se thrill with the l20b in my 1200 as I do with the rb20det in my 240z so In The feature I think I will be looking at an upgrade. Do you guys think an sr20de would put a smile on my face do they make a decent race engine. I know I could make the l20b go hard, but to get the same hp as the sr20de would be costly. It seems a sr20de can be had for under $1000 which seems food bang for buck. And I can fit it my self so there is no worries there.

L20b will be nice and power to weight over the z would be better.
Stock sr20de is good but do you need engineering for road use? Or strickly track. Sr20de vvt from s15 imports is higher hp than stock sr20. The varietta hadbthese as didbthe na autech s15. Much better than stock sr20de. Otherwise beams 3sge from the lexus is200 (altezza import) is great too

Dedicated track car mate. So it dosent matter what I put in it. If I was richer I wold go ca18det or sr20det but my budget is tight right now. Just looking for best bang for buck

If you can wire it in get a sr front cut. Otherwise do l20b and upgrade later.

I wired the RB In to my 240z so it shouldn't be a problem.

I have been a bit motivated to get some body work done on the coupe
Since I have had the car it has not had a sill panel on the left hand side And the front box section under the lower door hinge has been bent out of shape. Here some pics and a video of the repair. http://youtu.be/AZYGhUg5_-E

body work has been put on hold for a couple of months while i work on a customers car.\
I thought i had made up my mind on what engine i was going to run. the bigest factor is my budget I need to do this as cheep as i can the fact i can do most things my self helps with that. What i want is no less than 100 rwkw, but the more the better. I have already fitted the l20b. I thought about sr20de, but then thought for the same money it would cost me to do that i could turbo and inject the l20b and get similar power. Thats all well and good but that got me thinking about all the extra weight i am adding up the front. this got me thinking would i be better off going back to the good old A series and adding boost? From what i have seen and read the a series respond better to boost th an what the l20b does any way plus the A series is much cheaper to rebuild will the l20b plus turbo and other needed bolt ons through the handling of the coupe out enough that it will be a under steering nightmare? or am i over thinking? what would you guys do for a fun track car L20bet or A15et just thought i would add I dont care what class I run in. I am just out there to have fun

id go A series turbo, 100rwkw is very achievable
that said, you can definitely go L series or SR and still set it up to handle extremely well You can view topic.
