The Mrs. can push a watermelon through a tennis ball size hole at any given time. Heck she can push a wrecking ball even when there isn't a hole. Me, I just love to have fun
When it comes to that car, she won't parent it. The kids can attest to that.
Put the Head back on yesterday. I popped two rivets copper coated each layer of the MLS head gasket and torqued it down to a finish of 80 lbs.
Still need to put the carbs and supercharger back on. Radiator and then front end back on. Races are canceled today due to rain and more rain. Think I'll finish it today and hope tomorrow is dry.

Well I'm a believer in reusing MLS head gaskets. Well so far. Car is back together. Took it for a short spin yesterday and ran well.
Spent most of the day cleaning out the garage. Trying to simplify many years of car building. I'm about down to nothing. Most all I have left is only for my 1200 and my Fox Body Mustang. Since going from a 4 car garage down to a 2 car two years ago, space has been limited.
So I'm still trying to work on a acceleration dead spot on my carbs.
I'll be back at it again today.

Do you drill your jets or use new ones

I've been getting new ones. I though I had this nipped in the bud but I'm needing to fine tune it. I'm learning more about the Weber 32/36 every day. The idle jets play in the transition between idle and full throttle. Small idle jets means big primaries for throttle response but also means a rich mixture prior to secondary's opening. That's why I've always have had large jets on the primary side. The goal is to get the large jets on the secondary side. Larger idle jets will get me there.
I put 90's and 80's in the idle jets primary and secondarys and at 3000 rpms I'm running very rich so I'm backing off on the primary main jets but Im getting better thottle response. I'm still within the factory idle screw settings too.
Still working on it today.
I think this is going to work.

After a few engine adjustments (Tuning carbs, timing, spark plug gapping and fuel pressure) I managed pull a few more pony's out of this car. But it didn't do me any good in the end because my car would stick to the track. I had so much wheel spin in 1st and 2nd gear. I was actually loosing races with faster finish line times. 10 miles faster! I wish I was running the 1/4th mile instead of the 1/8th.
I tried no Nitrous in first gear and it didn't make much of a difference.
To fix the problem, I'm going to look into some wider tires and maybe rear dif gearing change.
But it was fun and I got around 10 passes in.
I wish I had some videos of the car going down the track but took a few from inside the car. This was the best one without the car squirling sideways back and for. Tires are still slipping though. KA24DE Supercharged 125HP shot of Nitrous

All 4 fingers? Not sure what the hell I was doing?

Cars running really well and I didn't break anything. That's a good thing.
I'm looking into new tires and maybe have to move up to a 15 rim from a 14. I guess well see.

So this is what I get with no traction.
First and second gear with a lot of wheel spin. My MPH finish is actually faster than the El Camino with the V8. Ofcourse he left to soon and red lighted.

Super Bee

Last race of the season was yesterday. 4 passes in before I broke the spider gears on my weld. I lost power in the right wheel but the shaft still seems in tacked so guessing my weld broke. I didn't know this but but when welding the spider gears, you also need to weld the spider shafts to the inner spindle, or what ever you call it. That, I did not weld. Should be easy fix.

That track looks horrid, You would do alot better on a well prepared drag surface and 1/4 mile as you said.
