e85 blends can vary. I bought myself an e85 octane tester off fleabay to test each batch I buy. I use United Petroleum blended e85. Its made from grain stock at a Bio refinery in Dalby QLD and distributed via United Petroleum. The last batch I bought tested at 108 octane. At $1.20/L, it hard to beat.
Found a bit more info on United's web site regarding the production of ethanol based fuels... ![]() Untied Petroleum

$1.20 a liter, but you need 35-50% more compared to quivalent gasoline engines, so $1.60-$1.80. Still very good for a race fuel. i was paying $3 per liter for avgas on Andrew's old coupe years ago, before getting sick of that and tuning it for pump 98.

the ethanol content varies in pump fuel. E85 is fairly much what is says, maybe a few percent difference. Apparently eflex is closer to 75% some of the time. That's what I'm 'banking' on using and will tune for. that's still easily high enough octane to run some serious compression (or boost) safely, and the reason I'm picking that particular one is because it is around the corner from where I live, and as such it's practical enough for what I need, and I don't need the extra margin of potential output from either true e85, or e85 blended with race fuel (which is apparently higher octane and a little more consistent in %ages) . There's a lot of exaggerated concerns about the pump variants, and tuned to suit, they'll be plenty for 99% of the people out there.

I found those recently while looking at costs of carbs vs injection. Only strange thing about them is they don't have injector mounts like all the other brands' Weber replacement type ITB's.
Those adjustable length ram tubes are nice though, and cheap!

I was looking at some for a friends late suzuki M series motor into a clubman/locost and since these and other modern engines have injectors already into the head these should suit it but also BMWs have this kind of setup which is I think his main market?.
