Safe air/fuel ratio is a range. It will be safe at more than one specific ratio. Just don't let it run lean.

No i wasn't changing anything I was going to run the E85 and rubber lubricant
its working fine with mmy friends E85 set up and yes i have asked him about E85 safe ratio, he said E85 has a rich power number and lean one BUT his numbers are different due to forged pistons, large cams (changes in dynamic pressure) ect So that why i was asking here thought there mimght have been a few in the same boat std motors, boost and E85
most tune the A/f on 98 a little fat at 12-12.5 so im going to Aim for .82 on E85 which is roughly around 12 on the petrol scale see what happens
Cheers for your help guys
anthony

typing "e85 AFR" into google will give you all the information you need...

Ethanol is not corrosive like methanol is, so don't worry about it "eating everything away".

Don't be surprised if your pumps eventually fail.theres a reason they make specific e85 fuel pumps and line.but if you want to keep costs down them try your luck

You can check the Cole Palmer materials database to check compatibility with ethanol and toluene (close enough to petrol). Generally ethanol is one of the more gentle chemicals. It's fine with most rubbers. It is hygroscopic (means it sucks water out of the air), pretty much just means its best not to leave it too long. I doubt you'll have any problems. Best approach is just run with it and keep an eye on things. Upgrade if you have problems.
