THEBUZZ is right there is nothing wrong with rotors they make good power and are reliable if you treat them right.
I would go injected for sure and get it tuned buy the right people and it will be reliable as any other motor.
To this day the fastest car ive ever been in was a 1200 ute with a 12A Turbo it is the fastest 12A in AUS with a 10.33@139mph. #### it was quick!!!!

anyone heard of a 1000 in the perth area with a rotory?
Heard a rumour about it the other day... apparently its done some really quick times (under 10?)

just for the score... i say keep the rotary where it belongs in the mazda

im for the 12a turbo or not, i bought some parts off a guy with a a12 n/a rotor in a bluebird, the thing was 1-2 car lengths a lap slower than his worked l24 in the same car.... ig got eh rotor, it looked better in the engine bay thats for sure
also better weight distribution due to compact nature
i wont do a rotor though because im a tight arse that cant be bothered engeniring a motor to an old car..... i like the old style cars with old dtyle power... carbs cams and a big smile on my face.

Rotaries are like all motors. Treat them right, maintain optimum tuning and you will be rewarded with reliability.

Personally - they are greatly misunderstood and a fine piece of engineering. I respect them for this but they don't do anything for me.

Put whatever engine you desire into your 1200, I cop flack for my CA18 from older people whom say it should have been restored to original. Their will always be people to argue this point but it would be bloody boring if we all did the same thing.
