Funny, we were just talking about Bathurst last night. I'm looking forward to it already with the extra power I've got this year. Be great if you guys have your 1200s out there too!

Andrew, yeah that would be cool. I'll have a front row seat to watch you dissapear into the distance! You Bully - lining up against a poor old SOHC 2 valve carbied 1200 with your mega bhp CA turbo on Conrod Straight? Yeah! I'll still be coming up the hump as you're crossing the finish line! I might have to try and convince Steve to come down (with the restrictor out!) just for that!

Craig, good to hear yours is coming along well. Its certainly looking the biz in the pics you've posted - nice job. I just sent you a number for Steve. I've still got the 13*7 Superlites if your interested - they don't seem to fit many other cars for some reason!

yep, three fat flared 1200's winning each of the Improved Prod Classes would be pretty cool

Hey guys,
when is this event on ?? I will bring the yellow coupe up for a run so you guys can show me how it's done !! Been a few years since I did the Easter speed weekend in the Gemini so it would be good to see how the datto compares. Let me know and I'll be there

What level licence do you need for the Bathurst event?

I would also like to know when it is on..... could be good fun if the Sunny is finished in time. Might even get it tuned without the restrictor ;)

I think it's the 1st weekend of December. And all you need is a L2S.
Sounds like it could be a big weekend!

Cool!

If the Sunny is not finished by then...I'll be about ready to Neck myself!

I have an L2s already...... Sounds like it could be fun.

From what I understand it runs from Skyline down to the chase...is that right?

I assume the event will be run by BLCC as usual but is it a one day event or 2-3 day with a mixture of events?? If it is a supersprint then I guess it will be like past ones where you start just before the dipper and finish at the start / finish line. If it is a hillclimb, then I suppose there is a choice of: Esses ascent, Mountain Straight hillclimb or (shudder) the Esses descent Either or all it would be a real hoot ! The extra bonus is that if it is in December then us NA dattos can watch the forced induction cars cook up a treat !! A collection of dattos will turn some heads though, and once we take all their trophies - a legend will be born
Keep us all informed !!
Cheers

Yeah it will be great having the Datto onslaught...but I know the competition will be stiff....
Harry I would absolutely love to pick up your wheels....$$$ are a prob at the moment and Teretonga has lent me his 14" Enkei wheels with Kuhmo grooved slicks and the offset to clear the bigger strut.
I will endeavour to try to finish the car and I would love your wheels if they are still available in the next few months...anyway we can always dream....

I was just looking up the Blower (BLCC monthly news letter) Its on the 4th and 5th of december they will be having the caltex chase supersprint on saterday and the esses hillclimb on the sunday. Would be great if a heap of dattos show up
There are normally a fewlocal dattos anyway Matthew windsors 1200 coupe 12aPP is pretty quick his son has a 1000 with a ca18de there are also a few 1600s and the ocasional Z.
I Hope My mate Andrew brings his R34 I would love to give him a run. I doubt his wife will let him though
I look forward to meeting everyone even if mines not going was good last time cathing up with the 1200 boys.
The time to beat is 47.93 for supersprint and 30.21 for hillclimb.

harry,i've been looking for events at oran park & eastern creek, but as i've only just rejoined the car club,i haven't got a calender.i'll try to find you a oran gp to do.as for bathurst,i'm hoping not to blow the gearbox this time.maybe i can even find some race tyres, too.i've got a lead on some bridgestones,
i've just got to remind the guy he said i could
have them.i'm going to try to convince chris petersen to run as well, that's the owner of the coupe that dodgeman posted photo's of.plus the owners of the 1000 i used to own.

to get sup regs, just download them off blcc.com,but get in early.hopefully the pit lane won't be a building site this time.
