Dont know why hung up on ka head but if you want it and spend the $$$$. A guy sold his turbo ka headed l20b on ebay $6k.
Its a lot of coin where personally imho a worked or ported l series head would be fun enough

I can see the interest in a ka head but when I looked in to it it was better value for power to work the Lseries head (for me). All depends on what you want to end up with and the time and effort your willing to spend to achieve it. Isn't the idea of a KA head to help the engine breath and if so isn't running mild cams a bit of a waste of such potential.

i can understand your position, good luck with the build. It would be really good if you could write a build thread on the KA head conversion. I am interested as to how difficult or easy it is compared to what i have read.

I rhink the 3 valve head is an easier fit. Not sure if the valves clear with a L16/18 but does a L20b. Can also still run carbs

KA head stock with stock cams makes as much power as a heavily ported L-series head with built cam.

Fit an import KA20DE, a good used Japan motor. Just as easy as a L20B swap, much easier than swapping heads. And legal too. Swaps easily onto a 1200. The DE (16 valve) makes significantly more power than the E (12-valve), at a higher rpm. Rev it up!

Using the 3 valve head is much easier. I can get navara 3 valve heads. Wanted to kno also what my compression ratio will be if I use a stock ka24e head on a stock series 2 bluebird (910) bottom end? I dont think it will make the 10-10.5:1 compression ratio I wanted. Can I use any other piston or rod and piston combination? Im getting into not so familiar territory but hey this is what its all about isn't it?

Not many of us are interested in doing that.

But where I live KA is the engine of choice for Datsun swaps.

I can put an L SERIES in legaly without too much hassle. If the ka head gets too hard ill gi L head but I do want something a little different
