Yeah that's why I had another factory tach modded to work with my ecu to keep it nice and factory looking. The rear seat area of mines been boxed in as well can send you some pics if you like? Its not the greatest job in the world but works for now until I get the trim redone at a later stage.

The 120Y went ok at the hillclimb. Car ran great all weekend - no dramas at all. Handled very well and it hasn't even got any camber or castor yet. Open diff sucks so bad. Times were no good, but I didn't expect them to be either. Can't wait to get it engineered so I can lock this diff and get some drive through and out of corners!

Sustainable motorsport right there Harry! Well done. 2nd pic is not far off you two wheeling Andrew's old car in the same place.

yeah, it might be a chance with more drive from a locked diff and a bit more grip from camber & castor. It's got reasonable potential I think. The speed it hits coming down the hill out of the second loop are similar to my Soarer before the exhaust system went on, when it was running low 49s. So that's my goal on the current 8psi boost. I'm very happy with it so far. So much torque too - my old L18 1200 coupe had to use 1st gear for the tight first turn and hairpin with a 4.3 diff. This does it in 2nd with ease despite the 3.9 diff.

Here's a short bit of video demonstrating how much open diffs suck

Looking good Harry!
Whats your feelings on the new softer spring/ stiffer swaybar setup verses the old setup you ran on the coupe?
Cheers
Dave

So far the suspension feels good on the road and at that low speed hillclimb, but we'll see once it's all done and I've driven it at more places. There's certainly more than one way to skin a cat when it comes to handling.

Old speed trace data from the Soarer at Mt Cotton before it got the big exhaust, and it ran 49.2sec showed it's top speed was 105km/h down the 2nd hill. I've never bothered with the GPS timer there since because it only worked half the time due to the tree cover there.
the 120Y hits 5000rpm down the 2nd hill in 3rd gear - I know because the fake Defi tach beeps a warning at 5000rpm lol And that's 106km/h according to my gearing spreadsheet. So looks like has reasonable potential :)
