That's exactly the process I did Toney. It's definitely the least favourite part to date. And yes they are Aussie stanza struts with Girlocks. Latest update the calipers have been now fully rebuilt including Pistons and are on the car. Also my wife and I have had a baby. So the ute is on the back burner for atleast 6 months so there will be very little or no progress.

Hey Toney,

Love the build, especially the Gloss black. Why was it so hard to paint the underbody gloss? Also did you use the same paint on the diff with a brush? Looks mint.

Looks sweet - brand new. You might be back out in the shed sooner than you thinks if if the new addition starts arching up too often

Hi trav, it's actually Daniel not Toney. The diff is 2pak. The POR15 is just a pain staking process. It's great stuff though. self levelling when brushed on. All the under body parts are 2pak and the actual under body is por15.

Just a small update. All the under body and running gear is 100% complete. I added camber tops to the coilovers (thanks nick) that fixed the crazy +ve camber. Added a 120y front sway bar with new genuine links.

Put on the rear shocks. Used VW TYPE 1 beetle shocks. In the wiki and previous posts it says you can just push out the tube from the bushes and they fit straight in. that's not true. I had to use a couple of different nolathane bushes from some different cars with some slight mods to make it work. But all good now.

Steering box and a few other bits and pieces are sprayed up. Now onto the body, finally. Hoping too have it sprayed by the end of the year with the interior started.

Engine will be the last thing

Sorry dave. Misread the posts. Ok i didnt realise you could get POR 15 in gloss black. I always thought it was like a fibreglass type product and was basically clear. I have thought about using it on my sedan the same way you have, to do inside front and rear guards, underbody and chassis. Looks like it has come out good. Why did you find it painstaking? The time to complete the three step process or more the care you have to take as i understand its pretty nasty stuff?

Thanks
Trav

Yeah it's just the prep work. Obviously stripping everything. Then washing it all with the marine clean. Drying, then etching with the metal ready. Then that has to be bone dry and I mean bone dry. Then the paint. Small areas isn't so bad to do but when ur doing the whole underbody its a pain in the ass.

Oh and I forgot to mention the tank is all complete aswel.
