I rang a local certificaion engineer last night, to pick his brains about the legality issues surrounding my set up. He said that it would require certification, and it would set me back $250. Only thing is I can't say I'm entirely thrilled at the thought of a qualified engieer taking a real hard look at my car. I'd be gutted if he found something realy hard to fix wrong that the WOF man has overlooked. Still It's gotta be better than a defect sticker.

Just curious about a few things if you don't mind answering questions...

Is that a 4AGZE blower or a 1GGZE one?

What size are your pulleys? (eg 1:1)

How much boost is it generating?

With the blower mounted like that, how much gap is there between the bonnet & the top of the blower? Will the bonnet shut with the carb removed?(I'd like to run a sidedraft & keep the bonnet stock & hidden)

Sorry for all the Q's

Ash, It is my pleasur to tell all. The ratio is 1:1. It makes 11+ psi. The blower is an s/c14. With the carb off the bonnet will shut, but my blower is mounted upright. I have swapped bonnets for the ccol one which now has 3' of air cleaner/carb sticking out. Ive got fri off, so I can do some more tuning etc. My biggest fear is getting defected.

my SC14 arrived today & I shoved it in the engine bay, I reckon It'll fit in a similar way to yours with a sidedraft to get it under the bonnet.

Thanks for the info

I got it going again today, for the first time since the flywheel came loose. It ran okay, but it had a loud banging noise (almost sounded like a diesel). I pulled of the rocker cover, but the tappets were fine. I tried pulling off the plug wires one at a time, but it wasn't a busted piston. Finally after probing the stethoscope onto everything , I tried removing the cam gear hatch. And wouldn't you know it the cam gear was as loose as the flywheel had been. Tightened it up and went for a spin. She still goes well. It pulls comfortably to five grand on the primary. But whenever I opened the big hole it rattled its nuts off. I had two gos at knocking back the spark, and the vac advance has been disconnected already. I would have retarded it more , but It was getting late. If anyone has any ideas they'd like to share sing out, Im all ears. There are drags on sunday, and I'd love to take her out and see what times I can put down with 12 inch wheels. But if I can't get it to stop pinging , I wont be going, Ive spent too much time on it now to go and break a slug at stage of the game.
