a15 head on a12?

ive tried searching but cant find any info. will the a15 head bolt up to a12 block. would i be right in thinking this would lower compression. what head gasket would be used?

It's a good question. I don't think there is any detailed information on this in our 12,000 threads here ... yet.

I'd like to know. The oil passage is different from the early heads, and the water passages are slightly different. The combustion chamber is not necessary bigger (depends on the A15 head?).

I'm in the process of putting a a15 head on a a12 block. The a15 head has a 5cc smaller combustion chamber. I am running a A12 intake(not water heated) so what i have done is welded up the coolent holes in the gasket flange surface and had it resurfaced,also the A12 oils through the head into a boss outside between #2 and#3 sparkplug,what i have done is,had a aluminum welder build up a boss on the a15 head and then drilled the oil gallery,and pluged it like the factory. I have not run it yet,but shud be assembled in a few weeks.
