flares for a 120Y

Any sugestions about a place to get flares (fender)f&r for a 120Y? I am installing 13X8 wheels w/ 215-50-13 tires and I am looking for flares,like the ones that go around
the tire well,not the complete quarter panel style,just the round ones sort of like the 510's. Any sources?

Hope you've changed the struts first - most likely you will get a real nasty suprise as the offset on 120Y struts is a problem. So too is the caliper. I just got caught out with my ute -
put in new pads for a roadworthy test and the extra thickness of the pads pushed back the caliper enough to snag on my wheel. Now I'm just waiting to find out if the old skyline struts I
had lying around will fit (after some interesting angle grinder mods - skylines were designed only to use wheels 14" and over) otherwise I'll need stanza struts.

Just a warning on aftermarket wheels if you're still running stock struts.....

The 120Y or B210 was made to use 13 inch wheels,at least that is the way it worked here in US. The wheels I have are 13X8,made by taylor made wheels in South Gate,California. The wheels
are stock steel wheels (datsun 210) centers welded to a new 8 inch cylinder. They were taylor made for the rear and I am in the process of making the front ones,the offset will be taken
into account,and that is the reason I am looking for flares,because these tires stick out only a bit,and flares will be usefull ,and also the look I like. Right now I have 14X7 w/195-45-
14 on front and 14X8 w/205 55-14 rears,but there is no 50 series 14 tires available. The front 45's I have I found at a tire shop (used),and 15 inch tires are too big for this car. I have
seen B210's 1200 and others(mazdas rX3's) with 15 and 16 inch tires and to my own taste looks awfull. Looks like a horse charriot,like fitting 25 inch wheels on a porsche.
Anyways,thankyou for your advise,the guys at the wheel shop took the necesary measurements,the rear looks really good (w/13x8 and 215-50-13) and performs very well,it is fast and sticks
to the ground. I will never use 16 X7 like the crowd,NEVER !

Thanks for the information,I will look into the whitney flares,although probably there is some "overfender flares ", as those are known,somewhere available. As to Mareo's fiberglass
overfenderflares,that would be great if you can send a picture. I have a 1200 pick up truck,already mine but still away from me,but the fenders in question are for my B210,would they
work on the B210,I ask because you mentioned your car is a 1200. Probably they are similar,or if not,if I could get a book that shows how to make fiberglass overfender flares or
something similar,I could try to make them.
I will keep in touch.

There are a few really good reasons why I have gone to 15" wheels/tires on the 1200:

1. Wide/low profile/hi performance tires are WAY cheaper than any 14" low profile tire. I paid $50 per tire for V speed rated 195/50-15's and $70 for 195/45's for the front.

2. 15" tires are far more common than 14" especially if you have a blowout in the middle of nowhere. There's probably only a couple places that make the right size 14" low
profile tires that would work on a lowered 1200 without flares.

3. With 15" wheels I had a much wider variety of brands/styles/sizes to choose from. I paid $90 per wheel brand new for mine

4. My 15" rims look and fit absolutely perfect on my lowered coupe.

I'd upload a pic, but don't have one in digital format yet. Everyone that's seen my car likes the way the 15's look.

Good to see... 16" or 17" wheels looks like we are back in the horseless carriage days. LOW and FAT and stiff shit if the
tyres cost more......

Should have answered this bit.... Stanza (13") and Skyline (14") wheels fit stock 120Y struts and clear calipers. This may helps Aussies and others who know what models I'm talking
about - people with faster internet access can tell me what models translate to what internationally.

Steel wheels can be safely modified as you have done, alloy need a bit more care....

I'm only running 205/60/13 rears and with the offset they/re running they look HUGE on the ute (pickup to Americans).
They look a bit like a set of minitubs (drag racing term for those who don't know it) where you seriously modify wheel arches and run shortened diff/axles to fit bigger rear wheels....

To second that notion, I've seen Andy's 1200 and the 15's do look really good on there! Personally, I like wheels without lugnut covers, but that's individual taste. It doesn't have
the "18" wheels on the Honduh" look that you might think, either. I'm hoping he'll come visit this end of the state soon, then you'll be able to see it on www.tensandtwenties.com
(shameless plug), which BTW there's a new page up that shows some cars from the recent Austin,TX event that he, I and Tim (dimlight) attended. It's mostly Z's, but that's what
showed up. :^(

Andy I respect your opinion and personal taste and you are right,there is a lot more offered in 15 inch than in 14 inch,and 15 inch is not bad,I personally like moer the fit of a 13 X7 or
8 wheel with 50 series tires 13 inch. I originally opted for 14 inch kit but you are right ,all I could get was 205-55-14 tires for the rear,too big for the front,so I used 195-45-14 in
the front. My original plan called for 215 50-14 but there is no tire I could find ,so I opted for 13's which are available. 13X8 wheels with 215-50-13 and I love them.As soon as I get a
digital camera I will post pics.
