I might try sucking out the pumpgas., and trying some avgas. YEAH,YEAH, I know ten grand fine for using it on the street. Or maybe I'll try some octane booster.

Hi ddgonzal
How come the factory motorsport distributors for A series Datsuns and A series British Leyland cars have no vacuum advance at all?? Ye olde Cooper S road cars bought from the local dealer had such a set up - hence I assumed it was always somewhat uneccesary for go fast applications.

My car currently doesn't have a vacuum advance, waiting for it to be repaired. It drives fairly well. You don't need one. But if you want best street performance, use one.

Not yet. Probably a good idea though. I was thinking of using an old window washer bottle and pumo, with a garden irrigation nozzle to atomize the water a bit. Something else I have thought of trying, (after I get it working) is substituting the water for model areoplane "glow" fuel. Which is just nitromethane , methenol and light two stroke oil. I had hoped to get it running a bit more happily, before starting to try other things such as that.

reason I suggested it is that it's a knock suppressant, so it may negate the need for a regraph. Otherwise if you change it you may need to advance the timing again once the WI is up & going.
