Speaking of straight eights. My all time favourite is the 1955 300slr merc straight eight. Power output is taken from the centre between the 2 banks of 4 cylinders. Mechanical fuel injection and throttle body. Another feature is the desmodronic valve actuation.

excellent stuff guys I wish I had a cheap 240z to put a couple of A13 in line and 6 bike carbs! or a supercharger and single sidedraft

Nice!!!
How hard could it be to bolt the rear crank of one to the front crank of another. Both #1 pistons firing at the same time. Yeah...... I'll get right on that!! ![]()
