Why do all of the top bellhousing bolt holes appear to be filled in?

Hello,

I would like to buy the 63A transmission please.

Quick question, As far as you know it all seems OK, no grinding or knocking etc?

I have a Datsun 1200 and with a A12 but am fitting a A14 to it so the gearbox needs to fit that.

My email is: gosh-speer@hotmail.com

Please email me and lets arrange the collection and transfer of funds etc.

Many thanks.

Dave

The good news is that any A12 transmission fits to an A14 engine.

If you have a newer Datsun 1200 it should have the 56A gearbox which is strong enough to handle the torque of an A14. You can look for the '56A' mark on the side of the gearbox.

The 63A is strong enough to handle a forced-induction A14 or A15, or up to 2 liters of naturally aspirated engine.

Ah Guys a 63A is an L series gearbox not an A series and no it will not bolt up without a lot of work, The A 14 Five speed you need is a Type 60A, The other five speed was the direct fifth A 12 GX Gearbox which basically had the same ratio spread as the normal A12 Four speed but with five ratios they were all closed up.

Both will be getting hard to find major parts for if you break them though and the A14 type 60 Five speed is a bit stronger obviously than the type 56.

"The 63 transmission came with A14-powered B210 (HB210 and HLB210)."

This is the same box as the one used on the L series, however it has the A series bell housing.

It'll bolt up fine.
