Kind regards,

With a little modification, the B210 (120Y) brake booster will fit.

It will definitely ease your muscles (make it easier to press the pedal). Unfortunately it won't stop the car any faster (it will still have stock brakes).

1. drill larger center hole in firewall
2. drill two extra mounting holes in firewall
3. Use B210 firewall spacer
4. change pedal box to new style

Yes, ex-Japan you can get the 1200 factory booster. Still need to drill the large center hole and the four firewall holes.

Request it from Bprojects Australia, or from time to time they are for sale on Yahoo Auctions Japan.

Have you seen the Maddat brake booster?

I've just fitted the booster to my Datsun 1000 wagon

Yeah the Mad Dat unit is very nice and includes a clutch cylinder too. It is the B210 booster & master cylinder with a custom firewall bracket.

What's involved in installing it? Any holes need to be drilled?

I installed the brake booster and brake master only (no clutch master as it isn't required for my Toyota T50 5 speed).

My project is a Datsun 1000 Van. I had to cut a slightly larger hole were the master would originally fit. 55mm if I remember correctly. I also drilled the 4 mounting bolts out.

Just remember when doing this to use a spirit level on top of the master like I did. As we all know there is a line on the side of the master for level and if like me you notice things like that you'll always be reminded that its not level. If it's not level it's not a real issue, I'm just fussy I guess.

I had to shorten the pushrod length for it to fit a Thousand. This is done with a bit of checking.

Just remember you can always take a lil more off the pushrod, easier than adding a lil more back on.

2 of the 4 bolts to mount booster to firewall were no issue. The other 2 hit the steering column bracket so I notched them out.

I will post pics up tonight.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies.
Might be a silly question, but it is possible to just get this (http://www.maddat.com.au/brakes/1200- ... -brake-booster-conversion) and use my existing Master cylinder?

That looks exactly like the 120Y booster, right down to the aluminum adapter.

Sure, you could use it with a 120Y master which has a special rod-end. I would only need the 120Y firewall adapter and the previously mentioned firewall mods (holes drilled).
