Hey guys back again :p. Just building up a L series motor. The bottom end I've got is a L20b bored 1mm running Mercedes forged pistons (gives me 8:1 compression). The head I'm using is a stock z18et head with stock efi manifold and turbo manifold. My questions are, whats a good non ceramic turbo that will fit on the t3 flange, what injectors will be bigger that will fit, what boost pressure can I run and will it rev over 7000 rpm cause I heard if I go over that I should use ARP conrod bolts. I'll probably run a cas and megasquirt.

A hybrid L-Z is nice engine. The factory LZ20B was L-series bottom end and DOHC head (LZ engine).

So basically making a 2-liter version of the Z18ET

* T3 flange (TD03) is 3.40" x 1.75". Pick one of the smaller Garretts?
* With intercooler and E85 petrol you could do 20 psi boost
* The red SR20DE injectors are good for 175 hp, the purple SR20DET injectors for 250 hp, brown for 300 hp
* You can exceed 7000 rpm in a stock 120Y, for example wrong shift. But with a Z18ET head, it won't normally unless you upgrade the valve springs. Really no need to rev over 7000 with the stock Z18ET head.

Datsun 280ZX Turbo 1979-1982
Nissan 300ZX 1983-1987
Datsun Bluebird 1979-1983
Nissan Silvia/Gazelle 1979-1983

I think the ceramic ones started after this?

That Engine will never make massive horsepower as such with the Z18 ET head but it will make stupendous torque and when all said and done torque is why people like V8's, None of that 1234 can we go now stuff torque means it goes now when you put your foot down.

Ran a Bluebird Turbo years back and while it did not impress with Horsepower figures it did make some 400 Ft/Lb of Torque at 3000 RPM so you know what to expect.
That bear in mind was a 1770 cc Engine built to strict class limits as well running a rebuilt stock Turbo T3 Nissan part.

As above Napz Turbo Torque negates the usual need for expensive close ratios
put it into that lame factory chosen gear and it pulls away with ease
