I haven't touched this for a while. I retuned the NA setup. It makes 31Kw now. It still has that vapourisation issue at light load. I'm going to take the engine out of the car to fit the turbo and test it on the dyno out of the car. This way I wont have to do a full exhaust to test it and will make it easier to test different turbos etc.

Regarding selling kits.... I don't really want to sell stuff until I can be sure that its all working as planed. The inlet manifold may have to be heated to aid in fuel vapourisation on the single injector setup.
Sorry its dragging out a bit. I do tend to get distracted with different projects!!

Turbo's to test!

Intake vapourization issue is one of the oldest engine problems. Originally solved by making a "hot spot" in the intake manifold

Modern solution is either:
* Heat riser intake manfold (exhaust bolts to intake)
or
* Water-heated intake manifold

Exactly.. Some engines also pull hot air from around the exhaust manifold, then plumbed in pre air filter.

The Datsun 1200 does that for Japan and USA models. It's not for vapourization but is to prevent the throttle blade from freezing. Datsuns "for tropical climate" don't have it.

That makes sense...When the car was on the dyno, I connected the air cleaner inlet to the standard tin cover on the A15 exhaust manifold. The vapourization problems disappeared. So it must aid that as well.

Hey there's one solution. Use a thermo air cleaner say from a newer Datsun. These air cleaners bypass the warm air when throttle is down so they run full cold
