Have had an email back from and Engineer called Andrew George from Sigma-Tech. He is on the VASS list of Approved VicRoads Signatories for Light passenger and Light Commercial Vehicles.

Gave him a quick rundown on my ute and he advised that he is authorized to sign-off on this type of conversion.

I'll call him on Thursday to discuss further.

Anybody on here used this guy and if so how did it go?

I have a mate that does the VASS certificates. He uses my hoist for the inspections. I'm in Ballarat. Not sure if this helps.

Some progress over the long weekend. Painted the door jams, looks a lot neater. I have decided not to paint the car until a later time (once it's on the road). I have no idea what they colour is so I had Olarenshaws in Sunshine match from a sample and they did a killer job, it is spot on.
Also have new Engineer sorted... Thanks Sikyne for the recommendation.

No hold ups now a few fiddly bits left on the motor and then it will be time to drop it in!

I was hoping this weekends post would be of the motor sitting in the engine bay, but a few of the flywheel bolts didn't want to co-operate!
I've used a rattle gun, WD40, heat, all with no result. The rattle gun ended up destroying the heads so it will be a fun job getting these out. I will try some bolt extractors today, if that doesn't work I may need to weld some nuts onto the bolt head.
Once this is off I will get the flywheel machined and put everything together and then finally put the motor in.

Don't you hate it when bolts are overtightened? Well at least they didn't fail while the engine was running. Time for new bolts

Torque for CA18DET flywheel is only 72 ft lbs, easily un-doable without an air wrench

Yeah it's a little frustrating particularly when it's the last step before putting the motor in. I have some ARP bolts to replace the old ones.
