Does anyone know what the HP is on a US A15 without the emissions junk? Even a good guess would work.Thanks.

The A15 that I had was 65 HP According to the books, all in the USA had 65HP Mine had the smog junk on it. Every A15 that I have seen has the smog stuff on it. They have a big pipe running from front to rear on them. Mareo

What I am wondering is if you cleaned up the A15 and put a 3236 downdraft weber, headers and opened the ports up alittle what kind of power you could get?

the differance in hp readings are the a12 sae ratings and a15 net ratings you need to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges

Yes, yes, and yes. The engine was balanced and bored 0.5mm over, stock pistons/rods/crank/lifters, dual 38mm SU's, NISMO header, ported and polished A14 GX head w/NISMO oversize stainless valves, chrome-moly pushrods, bronze valve guides, 3 angle valve job, cam is very mild 229 duration @.050" and .414" lift. I still get 30+ mpg too! A month ago I busted a piston for no reason and had to replace all of them. Since I got it running again the engine has more torque for spinning tires but less power at high rpms and doesn't rev as smooth as it used to. That's all that I've done to the engine so far and I've been pretty happy with it. I want to get 1.6 roller rockers and put my EFI on, but that's gonna be a ways down the road! Talk to ya later! -Andy
