the only valuable eskys are tudors so comparisons between
a 4 door 1200 and 4 door esky is well founded but still is dreaming to price a 4 door 1200 for that

fair enough for 4 door escorts - they are righfully unloved :P
I assumed the Escort Sport was a 2 door, and I sort of instantly think 2 doors when people say 'Escort'

If this guy is serious and gets his 18k(or there abouts)I may think about filling a couple of containers and sending them to australia.s eastern island to flog it all off.
I should get enough dough to pay cash for a water front property on the mainland ![]()

I think that you Aussies are somewhat spoilt over there at present and should probably make hay while the sun still shines and stock up. The horse has well and truly bolted over here in NZ as far as prices go- as I said before IF you could find a nice stock B110 you would be paying around $8000, coupes even more.
In fact it is getting that bad over here that I am seriously questioning the wisdom of continuing to race my SSS in case it gets a big serve and the potential issues trying to get decent body panels or at worst a new shell. For what its worth I do believe that the best price that someone is ever going to pay over here is not for a stock standard SSS, but a tastefully modified ( to period) competitive example that still stays true to its original'concept' which indeed was still a production race car. Cheers Dave

You mentioned the going price of a good stock 1200 sedan in NZ. I stated that it was far from stock. I also mentioned H160 because of what the advertisement mentioned, i'm well aware it's a H165. I would understand if it were an imported GX-5, or a PB110, at least. The 1200 is not seen in the same light as a 510, or S30.

I concur that the only eskys are 2 doors that are worth mentioning,
as for old dattos disappearing its definitely an issue but its time we see the old craft of making your own body from alloy or crafty specialist hand skills in the youth of the future. Today the bigger issue is the loss of hand skills which is easily noted or seen when you compare the 1919 monocar and todays effort of that particular vehicle. Be great to see artisan skills back like yesteryear Who knows maybe 3d printing will see all alloy/compsite datto coupes as projects for Dad and sons of the future :) You can view topic.
