Well despite my better judgement I took the blown beast out today. I finally got some better fuel (Our alledged 96 octane is sh1t) which seems to have fixed the pinging problem. I was a bit scared to get too loose in it , because with the air cleaner/carb hanging out the bonnet, a police man would defect it instantly. On the primary it pulls nicely, running 5+psi. But when the big hole is opened it gets up over 11. Just for kicks we tried to time it to 100KPH, but after I launched it traction was unobtainable under full throttle. Even grbbing more gears didn't help, I wound up pulling 5 grand in fourth gear before giving up. I supose thats what you'd expect, running 4.1:1 open diff with 165/70/12 tyres (Now looking worse for wear). Still , I'm happy with the way she goes. Now with a few finnishing touches it will be ready for the next street meet , whenever that is.

Once the days get a bit longer, (more daylight) I'll fix a few small things and get it certified ($250).
