That's like the FX16 -- 4 valves per cylinder, Twin overhead cams on a 4 cylinder engine. Corolla didn't do it first, the 1912 Pugeot had it

we are way off subject :) however.....great stuff....
yet was referring to tc engines in small deathtraps
for the masses to suit a Jap like consumers not the
first of tc engine to ever be built and run.
Early Europe like Japan also love small crazy cars.
In this area the Japanese borrowed heavily from FIAT
in every possible way to try and reflect Fiats success.
Guard mirrors and styling is very Italian Fiat / Abarth etc.
The 1950s italian era is largely ignored by most publications
which is a shame because of the beautiful designs and
passion poured into many of those 1950s italian small cars.
Even BMW and others in Europe under license produced
their version of the "Kei" like microcar italian Iso Isetta.
However the Travant is a cardboard czech masterpiece.

In the spirit of Abarth the stakes have been upped to suit
modern times and modern thinking, not retro but still sweet

D now you talking speed [I still miss my Uno turbo] I had one in '92 and no other car can compare to a uno turbo [standard] Vw gti ;bmw M3, opel they would all try but the uno was the best.I have never driven a renault 5 turbo but hear a lot of good things about them. I've thought about the Uno engine in a 1200 with those bike gearboxes they use on kit cars for forward and reverse and a few more changes

Fiat 128 engines are legendary rev machines 80mm bores and 55.5mm stroke!
The 1581cc version uses 86mm bores like and SR20 but still 55.5mm stroke!!!!

All versions have fully counterweighed 5 bearing cranks
They dont get enough limelight considering its basically the engine that
Made FIAT what it is and able to buy many Italian makes inc. Ferrari.

Nismo1 can you get the bore spacings of any of the UNO engines?
The Uno engine can be bored to 89mm and the 1900cc uno engines in
race trim supposedly make 230hp and the head is super lightweight
direct actuating cam on bucket weighing around 14kg or 12kg lighter
than an SR20DE head. Alot of the water and oil drain looks similar
and would make alot of people scratch their heads!
Non crossflow all alloy slant 4 Nissan frankenstein

D my fiat goodies are all gone. I sold my car for R7000.00 to a youngster that really wanted one.The car had 300 000 on the clock and motor never opened.D you have more info about the motor than i have -- so me thinks.I never had engine trouble so---if it aint broke dont try to fix it.I did fit an Isuzu turbo [diesel] and it works 100%.So why did i sell? PARTS. All the bloody parts are magnetti marelli and you struggle to get parts.I believe a lot of lancia goodies work [can't get enough of the orange lancia intergral on youtube].Listen standard that thing will drop any standard sr20det.D just imagine that engine in a 1200 body [200kg's lighter than a Uno turbo] D there is quite a lot of uno parts here but most are buggered cos of jokers that think they know how to mod the car.I'll look if the youngster has put the car together cos he stripped it to repair body and do the engine

Im still hoping to get my 1000 2 door sedan into Japan
it was 598kg with A series engine so with a similar
weighing 2liter eg. 63kg SR20DE bottom end and the UNO
better lighter than L series 8V head would be super happy.
The UNO head is simpler and more compact in architecture.

The non in/ex side has outer offset head stud holes but
plenty of meat for moving them to suit SR head studs
providing the distances are not too far off. Ive always
wanted an 2ltr 8v all alloy donk with itbs or carbs.

with all that moneys I prefer the APEcars that followed those vids when I was watching them
they are cheap, faster, nimble and easy to play with. Some are average but some are lethal.
They can take turns way better than anything on 2 or 4 wheels due to the proven trike layout.
I want one as a daily with a wooden tray at the back
