11s ... man that is fast

About a turbo and carburetor -- nitrous and supercharger are even better for torque

Any turbo that's gonna bet me in the 1/4 will not bet me in the 1/8. Yes, the torque is there on the supercharger until the turbo spools up. After that I'm just gunning for the finish line. I hate it when they catch me.
I could never get a blow through carburetor to work well.
I just bought a wideband Air/Fuel system so I can get a better sense of my air/fuel mixture.

Engine is rebuilt and broken in.
New pistons and rings.
Innovate Wideband Air/Fuel ratio gauge installed. Starting to see some true numbers so I'm getting a better idea on how to tune the car. With 8.8:1 compression ratio and 10 psi boost, I'm looking at a total CR of 14.7 and 200 shot of nitrous on top of that so no more screwing with mixing race with pump gas. Running VP110 in the tank and spraying VP C12 on nitrous. Went through $120 just tuning the car over the last 3 days.
Racing tomorrow weather permitting.

Yet another racing season has come to an end with a couple of rainouts. Last race was a couple of weekends ago at Renegade in Yakima. Fastest time was an 11.50. Seasons fastest time was 11.31 at Pacific in Kent
Still an in tune process.
Going to run a #9 NGK cold plug instead of the #8. Still getting a little pre detonation before the spark. Also going buy a can of VP C16 fuel and spray that on the nitrous. Contacted VP and that was what they recommended. Fine tuning on the fuel Jets and that's about it for the engine. Picked up a complete stock motor and two extra blocks, cranks and heads so will probably also put together a second motor.
Going to do some electrical work. Switching over to a push button start and switching out for LED lights.

Next year's goal is to runs 10.99 or better. Looking forward to next March 2018.

Not much going on with the car this winter. Painted the roll cage and ordered up some new solenoids for the nitrous. The progressive system put a strain on them so I'm replacing them.
Spent my time these past 2 months restoring 3 Kawasaki stand-up jet skis. Just finished up spraying the last one. Gotta love the Kawasaki Lime Green.

A good chunk of the way through race season and I'm still running mid 11's. Still a tuning process. With no fuel injection and all carburetors, it's a tough operation.
I'll get into the 10's if I have to add more nitrous!! 😀

Dual downdraft webers! on a DOHC nissan. I wonder if your plenum design could be limiting power? With naturally aspirated it makes a big difference (two carbs flow same as one when there is no plenum) but with supercharger I wonder what the effect is

We were just talking about you in the seat thread. I like the way you bolted the seats in, simple and quick but appears to be as safe as stock

Yes the fasten points for the seats are stock and so is the lap belt which is into the floor frame rail. Not too concerned though because the two are not related. Shoulder belts are into the cage. Racing again this Friday.

no brake booster and proper NA exhaust headers instead of cheap turbo mani
would unlock more hp especially with such a long stroke engine. Yet the cost
factor and almost full mech setup is what I admire and wished strict classes
were available that rewarded carb only cars

Even the Nurb in Germany should have a yearly event for carbed only entrants.
Its not a question of efi vs carbs but the fact some people like carbs and
apart from electronic ignition instead of points, carbs tuning is an art itself.
I wished there were more full mech cars today instead of ecus in every orifice!

ya.... just as D said.

Well I missed Import Face Off at Pacific Raceways on the 26th. Was having some overheating issues.
Car would not maintain a good cool temperature. Not the thermostat and not the radiator and its flowing good so its not the water pump. Im assuming its a head gasket leak. And its a small one because I am not showing any other symptoms other than the increased heat.
So I may reconsider the theory that MLS gaskets cant be reused. This one was installed 3 times with some copper spray seal. Maybe twice used is the ticket.

Im running up to my friends shop to pick up a head gasket leak tester.
