Thats not good especially reading ARP has been making some of their batches in China
To think if it wasnt revving that hard then stock rod bolts would have prob survived.
How do you know/prove the ARP rod bolts are made in the USA?

This gives me even more reason to stick with original parts where possible. I had the original lifters reconditioned versus buying new aftermarket lifters for my A15 rebuild.

Yeah I've always used the stock rod bolts. In one of my parts scores I ended up with a stash of brand new Nissan rod bolts so my latest motor got those. Prior to that I simply reused them, I spun the A12 to 8600 and the only thing that seem to suffer were the rings (go figure they wore out in a hurry).

Having a thought about De stroking the A14 crank 2mm and 1mm of the top of the piston
Equals 1415cc will Rev faster but not as fast as the 1322cc motor.mmmm thinking

I pulled the A15 of the coupe today and I'll be destroking and deboring it........be installing my A12. The cam is pitted and scuffed, one of the bores is scored, one wrist pin is sticky and a couple of lifters are scabbed.

The A12 is nice and fresh and I'm hoping to get between 85-90 at the wheels. I got 80 out of it before and that was with 35/29 valves and standard bore. My spare head has 37/30 74mm bore and 1 point higher compression. All that should get me a bit more omph. In the mean time I'll decide if I want to use the stock A15 short block or bore the existing one out to 78mm or so.

The eventual goal was to get the A15 up to 120-125 at the wheels. It may be time to leap to an L-series motor after I use up the rest of my A series stuff.

Thanks for the imfo.
I have 3x79mm head gasket spare I probably won't use.
The 1510cc was getting 120hp at the wheels but not for long.

There are some Colombian circuit guys running these pistons on A12 engines
https://www.ebay.com/itm/4x-Mahle-Pist ... :yRcAAOSwQG5ZwjkA&vxp=mtr

I conversed with them in spanish on their forums which was
alot of work for me but I was eager to see what they did
and they happily said they sleeved and grouted A12 engines with
A14 crank and tops of pistons milled 2m to clear.

I checked out
http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/enginedesign/
I tried A12 with A14 crank and only has -3.4mm deck clearance
using stock rods yet still has 1.578 rod stroke ratio which is
better than most Hondas that rev sky high.

Problem with pistons is they have 21mm pin holes so need
sleeved pin insert on the slugs to suit the 17.5mm pins
As bushing the usual A12 rod is too much to 21mm.
There are other pistons but I gave up and felt custom slugs
would be the way to go and later A12A rods.
These guys dont run big cams but like speedway in Oz
all stock except allowed capacity increases!
so pistons valve clearance arent a problem.
