I actually did but been considering something closer 600-700cc per cylinder
for easier jetting setup but got to say never really played with flatslides
as Ive heard they are harder to get to idle for low rpm road speeds.

D, two things to ponder.

First the FCR carbs on my car do fine on low throttle settings and idle. The key seems to be jetting the pilot circuit a bit fat.

Second I found it ironic that you posted up Mikuni Super BN carbs; my Formula 500 single seater uses them. Plugging off the oiling hole/port is not an issue as I have done something similar. The motor in the car doesn't have an oil pump and runs on premix. Additionally as it's a race car the choke plates have been removed, so I use the oil ports as a way to prime the car for cold starts. These are very good carbs, they work a little different than other carbs but are very tunable without taking them apart. I had a issue with the car loading up due to my not completely understanding them. The car was idling a bit high so I turned down the idle, this raised the vacuum which in turn caused the motor to pull in more fuel. In my case I put the idle back where it was. on these carbs you can lean out the high and low speed circuit by turning the adjuster screws. It's very handy for fine tuning.

D there are some pictures in the photo gallery under track titled "other race car". I have an older obsolete motor in the car (it came with it) but I do have a Rotax motor waiting to go in, it's 100hp so the car will go even faster. The motors are snowmobile engines and use the standard CVT transmission, the secondary clutch rides on a jacksahft with the secondary on one side and a counter shaft sprocket on the other. The final drive is via chain. The gearing is very low for autocross it's essentially a 4.86 final drive.

See the link..........I suck at posting pictures.

The carbs are 38mm.

Is that Rotax what the light aircraft guys use?
If so its worth alot more than you prob know.
Could get you alot of gear if you sold it
Plenty of 600cc bikes these days make over 100hp
2001-2002 yamaha yz r6 88.2 kW (118.3 bhp) @ 13,000 rpm

D the Rotax is a snowmobile engine. 600cc bikes engines are legal for the class (they use an inlet restrictor) but for autocross the CVT trans is the way to go. I contemplated the bike engine but the guy who built the car said stick with CVT. He's a retired Ford engineer that worked on things like the original GT-40 and has several National Championships under his built as a builder and crew member. He's won in both road racing and autocross.

10,000-13000rpm 118hp with a cvt would be cool ;)
or deafening after a few minutes!
Everytime I see rotax in small aircraft I see
big dollars and expensive repair parts.
Whats in it atm to give you 84hp?

The motor in the car is a obsolete brand AMW, at one point they were AMW Cuyuana and then become 2 Stroke international also know as 2Si. It's a 500cc two stoke parallel water cooled twin that was originally used in target drone of all things.

The bike motored cars do not use the CVT, chain drive goes direct to the rear axle.

Regardless of which motor you use the motor has to be stock.
