2019 race season is done. A lot of good runs. Best time in the 1/4 was a 11.50 I believe and a 7.35 in the 1/8.
Two years on the motor so I'm going to do a rebuild over the winter. Amongst other project. 👍

Good because I went to look at my motor and it was buried behind other motors. 😀

It's time again for a motor rebuild. Currently cleaning up garage and putting away summer projects. Snow is currently on the ground so a warm shop is the place to be.
A fresh motor and new rearend gears (4.30 to 4.11) should hopefully get me a 10 second car this year. 🙂

Starting Fresh.
New Block
New CP Pistons
New Eagle Rods
New Crank
New Head with SS OS Valves
New Crower Stage 3 Cams
So really New Motor.

Pulled my motor apart and found my #4 spun rod bearing. Last fall I ended my season a Couple of races early on the last day of the year. Was hearing a noise in my motor so I shut it down.

So I'm starting over.
Going with a 9.0 compression piston over the 8.8's I've been using. Stage 3 came instead of the Stage 2's.

This year I'm not going to let stupidity and advanced timing get the best of me.
150 max shot on the nitrous. Looking into methanol injection as well.

Poverty and Speed go hand in hand. Over the years I've spent enough money to buy a used Super Car. 😀

I feel for you brother! -
3 x Datsuns ( 4 motor rebuilds - 2 of them converted to turbo )
You have to love the build process over a 'benign' driver car (A Porsche Caymen would be nice)

Cant treat a supercar the same as a datto
and servicing a supercar will cost more than
many engine rebuilds for a datto.

prob already the fastest carbed nissan engined datsun worldwide

Well 4 Datsuns multiple multiple rebuilds over the last 20 years and always looking to go faster.
The fastest carb'd Datsun?
That would be nice.

So I had previously mentioned that I spun the #4 rod bearing on my last motor.
I chatted with my buddy who runs circle track with KA24 motors and he said "Oh yeah".
"And there is a fix to the problem". Basically a rear oil line to the block fed from the oil filter return. He said he has never spun the bearings from then on.
So a #6 line from one of the oil pressure gauge ports to the rear of the block to distribute the flow.

Parts are headed to the Engine Balance guy on Monday.

I only painted it yellow for piece of mind. 🙂
