AHHH the saga continues! Score one for the opposition. I went to pick up the ISKENDARIAN pushrods today. Someone somewhere in a very influential place has it in for me!! I did something to them in a past life I just know it. I called the shop where I ordered the rods. Went something like this: Hey Dave, did my rods come in? Yeah, no problem, they're here. Great, I'll be over after work to pick em up. OK. Got there at 6:15PM. Dave says: I didn't have time to open the package. Lets just check em out now. Goes and gets the monster 12 inch caliper. I look at the rods. hmmmm...they look at bit short. Dave comes back with caliper. We measure...... wow these are MINUS .100!!!!! Well now its too late to call Isky today, tomorrow's another day. I guess I won't know anything until Thursday. I just hope and pray there is somebody at ISKY cams that knows how to read a caliper, and cares enough to use it! Maybe the third times the charm and they'll get me my + .100 rods.
Thanks for readin, I'll turn vent mode off now.

I say with cautious optimism...I have won the war with my roller rockers!! I finally got the proper pushrods, fit them in tonight, fired it up, and all is right in the world. I immediately noticed a quieter, smoother valve train. Maybe I have a good imagination, but I swear it is quieter. Final specs for the rods are: SBC +.50. The closest measurement was +.80. Originally, I opted for the +.100, but then rethought my choice, figuring I might skim the head someday, and the +.100's were already on the tall side. As it turns out, the +.50's put the adjusters in the perfect position with 3 to 4 threads showing above the locknuts. If anyone wants to try ISKY, the stock # is 1235L+.50. Next project will be to recurve the distributor. Any ideas??

I cant quote the US price, but if anyone in Australia is interested, the FOB price from Yella Terra is $834-95.
I contacted "Rocket" in Sydney, [02 8825 1900] & they quoted me $766-20 [plus freight] & i have ordered mine from them. These prices are of course in Aussie dollars.

As you well know by now, pushrods are an extra cost item.

myko2, to check for quietness, use this rule: A-type engines should have zero valve train noise, none whatsoever. Since exhaust leaks can sound like noisy tappet, you might also take a length of heater hose to use as a stethoscope, and listen around the exhaust manifold to see if that's a problem.

I just picked up a set from Yella Terra also.
These have been on my shopping list for a while and now was the time. I will fit them to the A13.

OK, what was it that pushed you over the hump & prompted the call to order them?
It looks like Yella Terra may have had a small surge in orders for these in the last few months, possibly as a result of the discussion on this site recently.

I couldn't think of a better engine than your A13 to use them on. This thing is a true treasure & deserves only the very best,.. & it belongs on the street in something light. [Like a 1000?] Woohoo.

Edit
Congratulations on the new arrival. She looks to be a fine addition to the family. Do you have a Datsun project put aside for when she is old enough to drive?

On another point, i just had another look at your A13 engine on your website, & it came with the Nismo 1.52 to 1 ratio rockers, yet you are removing them in favour of the Yella Terra roller rockers. The rollers offer only the smallest increase in ratio, so i'm interested in the motivation to change these items, keeping in mind the cost, which is not insubstantial.
I made a budget allowance of $1,000 for mine, ready to run.

I was actually thinking I should be inline for that kickback first

Small commission would be nice. They probably didn't make any after mine until you guys started jumping at them.

Ah well.......I'm not special anymore
