just a post to let lobster (ian) & teretonga &
converted know i've finally got the sunny back together & will be at wakefield park on the 1/8/4,for more fun.it sure does help having an income, like i haven't had since february.anyone else down goulburn way want to come down & say hello, you're very welcome.it should be big.i'm double entered with a friend, which will put me back among the slow cars, like last year.the mx5 car club run 10 cars at once,& i
was always the last car out.my record from last year was 8 out of 9 cars passed,2 into the final hairpin at the same time.as that was with the small motor,& the car now has the big motor, i'm in for some fun.

Should be some great racing, I hope some of the guys get along to watch for me. I have had a full time job for almost 2 years now and in that time I reckon I have spent all my pennys on cars. The rally car, the XB and the new ute. Its an addiction. Just this week I blew around $350 just on the fuel pumps/filters/fittings etc for the rally car. Do I feel guilty? Hell no, this is my passion!
Make sure you have mates taking snaps to put up here!

Simon

sorry for not replying, but have been involved in 'the hunt for lost oil pressure'.when i put the baffled sump on the motor, the gasket between the oil pickup & the block only went over 1 bolt,so it blocked the pickup.when i went to start it,no pressure.
tomorrow is a supersprint run by the mx5 car
club.wakefield park is such a long track, ten cars
at once is possible.as i'm double entered,i'm usually at the back of the ten,in among the slower cars.makes for a lot of fun.
so,i've got a clutch with grip, some new falken rt215 azenzi's,& oil pressure.the weather forecast is for 2-12 degrees celsius temperatures & a 60 percent chance of rain.
what more could you want!

Hey Paul - hope everything goes well for you. Unfortunately Converted and I won't be able to get down there this time but look forward to hearing how things go. It's certainly a fun track and now I'm the proud owner of 3 Sunny's I have a real interest in how your car goes!! Keep them honest!

well it was a fun day, after the fog lifted & i corrected a fuel flow problem(the 20 litres of avgas i put in it last weekend drained away through a weeping drain plug).my partner in the car got a 1m 15 & was 2nd in class by 8/100ths,but was 2 seconds behind the class
leader, while i got a low 1m 16,for 5th.gary also beat dodgeman's friend chris, who got 4th in class.the real low point was when the rich kid in daddy's turbo mr2 tried to write my car off by
waiting til the last second to overtake me.i just
caught a glimpse of him as i was turning in,so
was able to avoid him.this really pissed me off
as he had enough power to overtake me on
the next straight, but from the dummy spit his father put on earlier in the day,he probably was upset i got in his way.i mean, that little plastic trophy you get at the end is so important.
other than that,it was great, but i was in with faster cars this year, & didn't get to overtake
too many over people.

The "Boss" told me that he was surprised at how many people came to him on sunday in Goulburn & told him that they had seen his car on this site. I have deliberately left out his name & anything in the photo's that would identify his place of business to respect his right to some measure of privacy. Those who know him persomally are not put off by this & it would seem that he has suddenly become famous.
Well, not actually famous, but better known than i had realised.

Paul
I'm glad that you had a good day. I had wanted to go, but waited at home for the cops to show for a pre booked inspection. They never showed, so i could have attended & met some more friends.
