Definately do it - you will find a bit more low down torque... but what I most enjoy is the noise it makes! do it for the noise alone!

How far can an A12 be modified? How much money have you got to find out?

It can be modified to a point where it will barely run except at full speed, it will deliver more power than you ever thought possible, & will likely have a life expectancy of a flashbulb. Nitromethane sorta does that.

Silverback
To get the best from the Webber, it would be a good idea to overhaul the engine & include an improved spec cam, an upgraded exhaust & try & pick up a little compression while it's in pieces.

A ring & valve job just ensures that all the extra power produced in the cylinders stays there instead of leaking past the sealing points.
Milling a little from the head will also add a little extra oomph & a cam change will help to get the best from the improvements.
Some extractors will get rid of all that extra exhaust gas & help it to sound "hot"

If you have it dyno tuned by a competent shop [one with Webber parts & experience] then it will be an absolute joy to drive.
If you simply install a second hand carb on a used [& abused[?]] engine, then you stand a fair chance of being less than overjoyed at the result.

Stewart Wilkins Motorsport has the manifolds: swmotorsport.com

A12s use the round-port manifold, not the oval port manifold.

Ferals website- DATRATS
I was recently looking on ferals web site and come across some manifolds, might be what your looking for, might help some other people wanting to put other carbies on their dato.
Good Website have a look around while you're there!

I'm sure that's true, since I can do the same with my A12 and stock Hitachi carburetor. I live right by the Cascade mountains and can go up the pass at the posted limit (65 mph/110kph) passing all the slow cars. And there is lots of power to spare.

Hey SILVERBAK,
I have a single weber manifold to suit A12 (round port). It is brand new - started the car once - and been in the cupboard since. You can have it for $80.00. Let me know if you want it.
Cheers
