Without seeing the Gearbox mount, I suspect after the wipers failed, he was looking for other things to fail you. Man, the simple things can't be overlooked. If they are, then more complex things are probably also overlooked (From his perspective).

I had retractable seatbelts in my first CA1200, but after reading the NSW guidelines I only need lap/sash belts. But if I can get some good retractable one that fit properly in a 1200, I'll fit them instead. The passenger-side mirror is only needed if you have dark window tinting in the rear.

The Copper lines are a bad idea..as already discussed. Not to mention possible galvanic corrosion.

It's not much effort, to have the piece of mind, knowing even a picky inspector is satisfied.
