It's the same here in the US. The coupe is far more commonly desired. They outsold the sedan 2:1 originally. More of the coupes have been held on to and I'd guess the ratio is now 10:1 in
the US.

On the other hand, I wouldn't say the sedan is ugly, more like "homely" -- it can grow on a person over time. Truly ugly cars never get better looking. Another way to look at it is as a
"sleeper". The other guy might suspect the racy little lowered 1200 Coupe with stripes and chromed wheels (like those Texas "big" 1200s, ya know?), but no one would ever suspect a homely
stock-looking sedan has a turbo motor under the hood.

well bob, if you go to www.datnet.org and click on the cruise link then go to the first ever sydney cruise, you will see a 2 door sedan that is in oz. i must admit its the only
2 door sedan i've seen in oz.

Right on Jesse. I think your 1200 4-door is the classisest 1200 that I have seen pictures of yet. It even looks classier than the limo 1200 that I have on my desktop. Your's is the only one
with the factory vinyl top that I have ever seen. I am happy to hear that you want to keep it original, now, go find you a coupe to hot rod. Your car should be worth more than most other
1200's because it was a factory luxury model and rare. Change any of that and it will be worth less.

I don't want anyone to think that I think any of the 1200's are ugly. I think thay are a classic designed car. Each model, coupe, 2-door sedan, 4-door sedan, stationwagon, panelwagon, ute,
and all other models look very good to me and each had a purpose or nitch to fill other than being a standard little econobox. Here in America, no one remembers the Datsun 1200. There were
always very few of them here. The people that had them remember them very well and mostly with good feelings towards them.

but general wear and tear is slowly wearing my datto down...rust has started in the real wheel arches, and some boof head put a big dent in the piece of chrome that runs down the rear
drivers side door, where the window starts...pissing me off, coz i cant find another chrome piece thats better than that one...grrrr

although the A14 is going good...bought new points and a few other bits today, finally got it tuned to perfection. Dont worry, i have the original motor, and it's gonna go back in the
sedan when i get a coupe, coz i'll put the 14 in the coupe.
