I bought new belts for my coupe last year and chose the non retractable due to them being cheaper and there were no hassles mounting them. The retractable units would also cause a space issue where passengers climbing in and out of the back seat would be tripped up by the units. However, in hindsight I would have chosen the retractables due to the issues my incompetent passengers have with adjusting fixed belts to fit them. Then my belts are left all tangled up and plain messy dammit.

In my ute i had a problem with the seats hitting into the return, as there isn't much room in that area. Is this the same with the coupes???
I was thinking about getting some that are mounted in the pillars, except i'd have to hack into the side of my car, no doubt weakening it. It would prevent people tripping on them in the coupes though.

um, i think you both are picturing something diffrent, the old ones i had mounted the "reel" up just under the rear window (behind the persons shoulder), id like to stick with that method rather than a reel down at the floor, as that would require an extra point to be added at the top
if that makes sense???, maybe a picture will help...stay tunned

I understand what you mean now. Can you mount the reel straight at the top therefore bypassing the belt going vertical to a point from the reel near the floor?
