Yeah, was 351. Very, very rough and didn't run properly.

Just out of interest, why do you want a V8? Just for the factor??

the 3.5L and 3.9L all alloy rover V8s would 'fit' and be light over the front wheels. there's lotsa goodies for them too.
Another variation on the same engine would be the BOP trio [Buick, Oldsmobile Pontiac] The Buick / Pontiac engine is the same 215 cube engine that was later produced as the Rover, while the Oldsmobile alloy 215 is supposed to have a more conventional wedge combustion chamber design & it also has an extra four head bolts [per side] This is one that i have never seen, but all of them would be a candidate for the L series engine bay.

Hook one to a suitable 5 speed & it could be a really good toy.

Has anyone measured, & weighed, a Daimler SP250 engine?

I was at the drags the other nite and there was a 510(1600) with a 350 chev in it running 10.8's. On the bottle it runs in the middle 9's!!! That car is awesome! He does drive it on the street, but it's a real bear! I'll see if I can get some pics. The engine fits nicely, but the car has been chopped up a fair bit to make everything fit(tube chassis, tubs in the rear, etc).

Cheers, the plan is to convert the four door to a two door and to loose the 4 and drop in an 8 for the power look and sound, the plan is to try and make it look standard.
