Is it possible that we could do a group buy into getting a halve container or similar and put 50 new or similar 5 speed gearboxes from the SA a14 bakkie???
Can anyone work out the price of the box in SA and then container prices?
Id even get 3 to make sure I have some for the future if we can get them for 600-1000 each imported...

Heres the bakkie link...

Put your names up if interested? http://www.nissan.co.za/vehicles_bakkie_specs.asp?n=3

Just wondering, how come everyone doesn't source brand new parts from South Africa? Is it the shipping price or is it taxed or something?

Would be interested in gearbox but can't afford that just now. In the process of building a new engine which goes in in two weeks.

Tried this...
A. Nissan SA wont deal outside their country.
B. The prices are bloody expensive. (ie 1200 steering box brand new $1200 aus plus $150 freight) against the price second hand $50....
Further to this if you want a super strong 5 spd with great ratios ring Dellow engineering who does a kit so you can fit a 2T or 3T Toyota Supra box to your A series.
Kit is $650 includes bellhousing, clutch plate to mate with an A series pressure plate reaer tail yoke. $150 to modify a tailshaft and $200 for the Toyota box from a wrecker which are everywhere. it will also allow you the option of using TRD perfromance ratios etc etc.....

Fristly I'm South African,
Just to let you guys know,
these parts are imported from Japan,
wouldnt it be easier to try and import them directly yourselves, to avoid the middleman{SA}.?

Oh and remember, we also have many companies here that can get these parts besides the Nissan Agents Themselves.

Let me know, what you guys are really intersted in buying, and I can Phone around to get Decent prices including shipment costs.

Only serious buyers need contact me.

I would reckon that most us on this website in Australia would be after a 5 speed gear box at some stage. I don't give a f*ck where I get it from, I just want one. So for $600+ shipping count me in.

cheers,

Daz
