Does the 120y s\bar bolt right on the 1200, without any conversions etc and improve handling noticably?

Then I'd like to have this, cause I like pushing the handling capabilties of my Datto to the limits.

Yes it bolts in without any mods just make sure when you get it you get the brackets and rubbers that bolt it to the chassis.

Maybe the swaybar you have is bent because of the accident ?? It should bolt in and sit where the stock one does.

It fits no worries at all. In some models of dato (not sure which), it does hit the oil sump but this is nothing that a hammer can't fix with a bit of gental persuasion. I took the 1200 one out and lined it up with the 120Y and apart from being larger in diameter it is excatly the same. My only problem was that I didn't have the brackets and bushes for it so I had to put the 1200 one back in for the time being until I get the rest. I paid $20 for the 120Y bar from a local wrecker.

I could only find 2 places that could order them in for me, Fulcrum Suspension $105 and I think the other place was City Suspension (Slacks Creek) and they were $115.

I got them for $70 including $10 postage from e-bay and they were delivered within a couple of days. They had a buy now price of $65 plus postage if you want them straight away. I can give you details if you want, they have an on-line shop.

I got a 120y sway bar today for $22. I put it in using the orignal 1200 bushes by cutting them in two and grinding a bit of rubber off the bottom and now they fit perfect.

Haven't been able to test drive it yet as I have no engine but it definately feels alot tighter even when just pushing the shocks up and down.

I will take back what I said about the 1200 and 120Y Sway bars being the same. They are different with the centre part of the 120Y bar having a defined step down or step up in the centre of the bar. The 1200 one is essentaily in the same plain. However the bolt up points to the chassis are the same and after fitting the correct bushes it went in no worries at all.

I fitted the 120Y bar today and managed to get about 5mm clearance in front of the sump with the centre section stepped down. Keep in mind I have an A15 (not sure how it would go with an A12??, are the oil sumps the same dimensions??).

I tried it the other way (centre section up and although it did fit it was flush up against the oil sump and just underneath the fanbelt. This obviously wouldn't work if you went over a bump.

I went out for a crusie and did some hard cornering and I can tell you that it does make a difference. Much better handling, I was amazed. I would not have thought that a 4mm diameter increase would have made such a difference.

It took less then an hour messing around and is a very cheap upgrade. Highly recommended if you still have the old 1200 16mm bar.

Hi gays. Is the later model 1400ute's s/bar not 20mm standerd.
I put a new ute's front sespention in my 1200ute and im sertain
that it is 20mm. I have about 15-20mm space (not 100% didnt mesure)
Ps corniring is no prob at all!!
