'The Craic' (spelling?) starring Jimeoin.

They're in the outback after the combivan exploded and get picked up and taken to town by a bunch of Aboriginal dudes in a sad looking white 1200 ute.

in i think either 2 or 3 of the predator movies, in the shooting scene in the street there is a light brown 120y sedan, and u see it a few times, the rest of the cars are full of holes but the 120y seems to escape destruction !!!

I just got the original "Gone in 60 seconds" VHS tape from the library. This is a great movie for 60s and early 70's car-watchers. Every classic car is in here somewhere.

Here are the Datsun sightings:

At 38 minutes* -- scene lasts about 1 minute
Lyle Wagoneer's Ferrari gets stolen, but as b310gx pointed out there is a like-new green 1200 coupe right behind the actors. A good view of the rear, but a bit of the side is also visible. You can see the what the original "bright" green looked like (this is not the dark green).

At 120 minutes -- scene lasts about 4 minutes
The main character drives past the (12 story?) Datsun North America headquarters building before turning into the Torrance Mazda agency, through Butler Buick and into the Moran Cadillac dealership. There is a clear shot of the rear of a white 1200 coupe. There may be Datsun 1200 2-dr sedans and coupes visible along the street and maybe in the car lots, it's hard to say.

And though literally hundreds of cars are damaged, as far as I can tell no Datsuns were harmed during the movie. Among other sad scenes, a nice circa 1969 Corona get t-boned at high speed, and a Dodge Challenger gets put in the shredder (I hope it wasn't a Hemi-powered one).

*from the VHS "digitally remastered" NTSC tape, year 2000

I just watched Battle Royale 2 on DVD - crazy Japanese movie - wasn't as good as the first one, with one exception - there's three great shots of a crusty 1200 ute in the second to last chapter...

View them in my Photo Album HERE
